We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Creative Copywriter/Editor to develop compelling, brand-aligned content across multiple advertising and marketing channels within the tourism landscape. This role combines creative writing with meticulous editing to produce engaging multi-channel digital campaigns that resonate with target audiences and support client objectives. The ideal candidate is a strong storyteller, skilled editor, and collaborative team member who thrives in a fast-paced creative environment.

  • Write persuasive, engaging copy for website articles and itineraries, paid media, print, newsletters, video, broadcast, travel guides/brochures, and other marketing materials.
  • Edit and proofread content to ensure clarity, accuracy, grammar, Associated Press Stylebook compliance, and brand voice.
  • Collaborate with creative directors, designers, account managers, videographers/producers, and earned and social teams to develop integrated multi-channel advertising campaigns.
  • Interpret creative briefs into effective messaging that meets campaign objectives and assigned brand standards.
  • Develop headlines, taglines, scripts, long-form content, product messaging, and promotional materials.
  • Research and understand a client’s needs and target audiences through online searches, reviews of existing research, interviews with subject-matter experts, and in-person meetings.
  • Write compelling interview questions and articles based on research for Montanans with a unique story to tell or local business owners identified as interview subjects.
  • Research and write routes for various Montana road trips in various seasons for potential out-of-state travelers, international travel groups, and in-state residents.
  • Contribute creative ideas during brainstorming sessions and campaign playbook development.
  • Present creative copy concepts to the internal team and clients.
  • Revise copy based on internal and client feedback while meeting project deadlines.

Expectations

  • Bachelor's degree in Advertising, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field—or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3+ years of professional copywriting and editing experience in an advertising agency or creative environment.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, proofreading, and storytelling skills.
  • Knowledge of the Associated Press Stylebook and the ability to write to various brand guidelines.
  • Experience writing for multiple channels, including digital advertising, paid media, websites, email marketing, and print.
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace; familiarity with project management tools is a plus.
  • Portfolio demonstrating a range of successful creative campaigns and writing styles.

Must Have

  • Agency experience.
  • Knowledge of SEO best practices and digital content strategy.
  • Experience writing video, radio, or television scripts.
  • Creative writing about Montana within the tourism marketing landscape.
